Wheaton College is a four-year, private liberal arts college, with the residential campus located in Norton, which is a town in Bristol County, in the US state of Massachusetts, with a population of more than 18 000 inhabitants, according to the 2000 census.
Wheaton was established in 1834, as a female seminary, and was chartered in 1912, as a four-year women's college. The college began admitting men in 1988, after functioning for more than 150 years as a female-only institution, and, today, offers its students over 40 majors and 50-plus minors, in areas such as chemistry, biology, literature and history.
